Pepper stimulates the secretion of gastric juices, which helps improve digestion and stimulates the appetite. It is recommended to consume pepper in case of nausea, bloating, flatulence or constipation. Gastric juices in larger quantities help to reduce these various symptoms.

The piperine in pepper helps produce more saliva with an antacid effect on the oral cavity.

Because piperine stimulates the production of endorphins, we note an anti-depressant effect because endorphins provide a feeling of well-being. It is recommended in naturopathy to combat depression, anxiety, insomnia and fear.

Pepper is used against arthritis. It reduces pain and swelling during bruises.
