Nutmeg is a precious spice, it is one of the most expensive spices in the world.
Its taste is quite strong but it is not spicy. We advise you to add it sparingly, a pinch is generally enough. It is easier to add more later than to have to start the whole recipe again.
It flavors potato dishes, meats, béchamel soups, gratins, savory tarts, quiches, vegetables and certain cocktails.
It is used in the composition of many mixtures such as curry, ras el hanout or colombo.
For desserts, nutmeg goes wonderfully with fruits such as apple and pear compotes, and in general cold season fruits. At Christmas time, it is found in gingerbread.
